From application to post evaluation

This is the process every tourism business follows in order to achieve the Qualmark accreditation:

Qualmark membership fees

To support our members while borders were closed, we suspended Qualmark fees in March 2020. With borders now open and strong visitation expected, we have reviewed and simplified our fee structure with fees resuming from April 2023. The new simplified fee structure means that the standard fee, to be paid by most members will be around $850. We will be in touch to provide your individual fee details and how they are made up.

If you have any questions, please contact your Qualmark Specialist or alternatively our Membership Engagement team at enquires@qualmark.co.nz or on 0800 782 562.

Qualmark will remain focused on supporting our members to deliver high quality experiences for the domestic and international markets and to help ensure you are set-up for success to recover and rebound sustainably for the long term.

We have been working on some exciting improvements to the Qualmark offering that we will roll out this year, including improving our evaluation process, providing tools and resources to help build capability, a new website and online members portal. We look forward to sharing more with you about this in the New Year and how this will benefit you.

FAQ

Qualmark members are evaluated annually, to maintain the standards demanded by travellers. One of our Qualmark Specialists will contact you to arrange a suitable time for the onsite evaluation and to discuss or answer any questions you may have.

That’s okay! It just means you and your Qualmark Specialist have identified areas where improvements can be made, which will ultimately benefit your business and ensure a positive visitor experience. You’ll have the opportunity to work on these areas and make the necessary changes.

We understand some businesses require specific audits and certifications to operate legally (e.g. aircraft and boat operators). Where there is an external regulator that governs health and safety in relation to the type of business you operate (e.g. adventure activities), we’ll expect you to have been audited by that regulator and met their standards. Qualmark recognises the importance of these certifications, and these are taken into account when completing the evaluation.
