The Qualmark licensing process
Qualmark awards quality marks only to qualifying tourism businesses reaching the high standard of quality assurance required by the Qualmark licensing system.
Regardless of the type of operation, all Qualmark businesses have undergone a rigorous independent on-site assessment by a fully-trained assessor.
When undertaking a quality assessment, the Qualmark assessor reviews the operator’s business practices against over 160 individual industry-developed, sector-specific criteria that reflect industry best practice.
The on-site assessment determines your star grading.
Here’s how the easy 5-step process works:
1 Enquiry
After you make an enquiry with Qualmark, we will send you an Information booklet, details of the Criteria you will be assessed on and an Application Form.
2 Welcome
Upon payment of your licence fee you will receive our Pre-Assessment information and instructions.
3 Assessment preparation
At this stage you will need to prepare for your on-site Assessment. To ensure the assessment goes smoothly, we suggest you gather all the appropriate information before hand. The instructions are provided in the Assessment Preparation Guide.
4 On-site assessment
Now it’s time for our assessor to pay a visit and check out your business. The assessment visit will take up to four hours, with opportunities for feedback and discussion.
5 Certification
Well done, you’ve made it! Having met all of the requirements you become a certified Qualmark Licence Holder, having met the high standards set by the industry and recognized for providing quality visitor experiences. You will receive our comprehensive Online Assessment report, detailing the thorough evaluation our assessor made of your business. You will also have the opportunity to give feedback. Your certificate is in the post and you can download your Qualmark logos online.
