The abundance of wild trout in the mighty Tongariro River is incomparable. The wilderness section of the upper river, with its cold, crystal clear natural pools and runs, provides December 1st to May 31st angling isolation as well as large numbers of quality fighting fish which can be caught nymphing, downstream fishing, or on dry fly, Raft-fishing trips can be made to suit every angler's specific needs. Experienced guides are available to help locate and net your first fat taupo rainbow.

The magical waters of the Tongariro River provide one of nature's finest, fun-filled roller coaster rides. Imagine rafting grade three rapids and long, lumpy glides through pristine pools and breathtaking gorges. Between the paddling and excitement, observe the native blue duck, the mystical ancient beech forest, the fantails and swallows flitting for surface insects. Listen to the chortling of a veritable potpourri of birds above the music of rushing water. See stealthy trout dart for cover as you pass. This is the exhilarating, total experience we offer. Knowledgeable guides and quality equipment are trademarks that promise an entirely safe, wholesome, and unique adventure.
